The Football Association of Zambia would like to announce a change of venue for the season opener 2012 Samuel Zoom Ndlovu Charity Shield final.

This year’s final will be contested between Power Dynamos and Nchanga Rangers after their successful semifinal matches last weekend. Nchanga Rangers beat Red Arrows 1-0 to set up a titanic final against double champions Power who edged Konkola 2-1 in a thrilling clash at the Arthur Davies Stadium.

The final match, which was initially scheduled to be hosted at the Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka, will now be played at the Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe.

The date remains Saturday 17th March. Kick-Off is 15:00hours.

“Following a meeting of our senior management team and consultations with the Match Organising Committee of FAZ, we have decided to move the final of the 2012 Charity Shield from Nkoloma to Konkola Stadium.

We looked at various options but settled for Konkola because we believe it will provide neutrality as well as accord fans of the two sides from Chingola and Kitwe an opportunity to travel and cheer their stars,” FAZ spokesperson Erick Mwanza said adding: “Going by the excellent exhibition of talents and high standards of the game at the semis, we expect a scintillating final. We therefore urge the fans to turn out in their thousands as they did for the semis to enjoy this grand finale.”
